Silver and Glitter Funky French!

Yet again, another old mani! I actually thought I had posted this months and months ago, but going back through my posts I realized I hadn't. Here it is! I'm not crazy about french manicures, funky or plain. The combo of metallic silver and glitter totally won me over though. Especially when mattifyed!

This is 1 coat of Wet n Wild Private Viewing, 1 coat of L.A. Colors Livewire on the tips, and 1 coat of Spoiled Pet My Peacock!

Then mattify it with NYC Matte Me Crazy top coat.

OPI And Wet n Wild Sunset Sponge Tip Mani

I LOOOOVE this notd! Sponging is so awesome, I should do it more often. I used Wet n Wild I Need a Refresh-mint for the turquoise, OPI Opus In Amber for the copper, OPI Sonata In Bronze for the bronze at the tips and a coat of topcoat. Doesn't it look like a sunset?

Naturally I couldn't leave it alone, so I topped it with NYC Matte Me Crazy mattifying topcoat.

NOTD with NYC Sidewalkers

A quick 2 coat mani with NYC Sidewalkers, no topcoat.

I was really impressed with this NYC In A New York Minute nail polish. It dried quickly and super glossy. I'd like to check out more colors from this line.

Less Than 3 Lacquer Pegasus Poop Sponged Tip Mani

Another quick mani using <3 Lacquer Pegasus Poop. This is 2 coats of a plain black creme with 1 coat of Pegasus Poop sponged on the tips and 1 coat of topcoat.

The gold and red duochrome is much more prevalent than the holo when sponged rather than painted.

Just for fun I tried topping it with NYC Matte Me Crazy topcoat, and I really like how it came out. The matte topcoat significantly dulled the holographic effect, but the red and gold duochrome is still prevalent and actually you can see green at extreme angles. Kind of awesome!

Metallic Splatter Mani

For this mani I used 1 coat of basecoat, 2 coats of NYC Sidewalkers and splattered OPI Take The Stage, OPI Rising Star and China Glaze Golden Meringue.

Soooo... I think in theory this is a lovely mani. In real life? Not so much. While NYC Sidewalkers is an awesome shiny polish I think it has too much yellow in it to go with the coppery gold colors. Anyways, I wasn't impressed with it, but I think with some tweaking it could be awesome.

Simple Sunday: neutral Darling Girl look

Today's makeup is a simple, shimmery, golden Darling Girl look.
I'm wearing NYX jep in Yogurt on the inner half of the lid and Pure Gold on the outer half, lower lashline. Darling Girl Bare Nekkid on the eyelid, DG Dulce De Leche in the crease, outer V and lower lashline. Wet n Wild matte nude on the browbone and Meow Apparition on the inner corner with NYC white eyeliner on the inner corner waterline. Maybelline Line Stiletto black liquid liner and Maybelline Colossal Volume mascara in black. For my cheeks I used NYC Blushable Creme Stick Highlighter in Gold Radiance, Wet n Wild Everything Under the Sun bronzer and Meow blush in Aruba.

My new love, Revlon Lip Butters!

And to finish it off, a dorky pic of me smiling while Marz mimics me taking pictures of myself.

Sparkly Zoya and China Glaze sponged tip mani!

I was inspired by a mani I saw on Pinterest a couple weeks ago, they had used Zoya Harley as the base color and what looked like China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara as the glitter. I don't own Harley, and the grey I do have was too dark, so I used Zoya Kristen as the base color. I used a cosmetics sponge to pat on layers of China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara.

2 coats of Zoya Kristen in window light. Normal dry time and almost opaque in one coat, though a little streaky. This is the most accurate picture color wise, still a little bit more pale and dusty but its pretty close.

2 coats of China Glaze Lorelei's Tiara sponged over Zoya Kristen. Applied normally this polish is goopy, thick and gritty. But sponged on it dries in a normal amount of time and is less gritty. Picture taken in window light.

Taken in sunlight.

I recently got NYC Matte Me Crazy top coat (only $1.98 at Target!!!) and have been putting it on top of EVERYTHING. Lol. So pretty on glitters and it dries quickly! Photo above taken in window light and photo below taken with flash.

Old Hollywood look using Wet n Wild I heart Matte palette

You can probably tell I really love the Wet n Wild I heart Matte palette. In the last 2 weeks the only time I stopped using it was to try out a Darling Girl look. I seriously think this is my favorite palette ever.

Anyways! For this look I used the neutral side of the I heart Matte palette. Starting with ELF eyelid primer, NYX Jumbo Pencil in Yogurt, I followed the suggested steps on the palette excluding the black "define" eyeshadow. The winged liner is Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper. NYC Blushable Creme Stick in Gold Radiance as cheekbone highlight, Evil Shades Bronze Skies as bronzer. And Maybelline Wet Shine Liquid Diamonds lip gloss in Spoiled in Rubies.

 (Taken in Shade.)

 (Taken with Flash.)

(I went a little crazy with the bronzer lol. Taken in sunlight.)

(Close ups of Spoiled in Rubies. THE best red lip gloss everrr it has blue sparkles!!! And it doesn't bleed or settle in lines. Taken in sunlight.)

This is the same look but I added gold glitter liquid liner. Wet n Wild's "Hypnotic" from the Halloween Fantasy Makers line. Changed lips to Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Wink for Pink.

Again, this is the same look, but I added Meow Cosmetics blush in Cat Lover. Cat lover is a berry toned nudish mauve matte. One of those blushes that's universally flattering. I also changed my lips to Revlon Colorstay lip gloss in Bordeaux.

(I took a picture with the tube to give a better idea of what it looks like. For some reason in the pictures Bordeaux looks light than in person. In person my lips look closer to the color in the tube, a darker berry color.)

 (A close up of Bordeaux.)

Naturally I painted my nails to match. This is Maybelline Purple Trend. I love this color so much. I was so happy when I found it at Rite Aid, that I did a happy dance in the aisle lol. It's a plummy purple creme with a touch of brown and hidden turquoise/aqua shimmer.

Wet n Wild Dancing in the Clouds trio review, swatches and look

For this look I used Wet n Wild limited edition Dream Weavers eyeshadow trio in Dancing in the Clouds. When I first saw this collections I was happily surprised by the choice in colors, though I didn't really see how they were "space" themed. After looking at each individual trio I noticed they have rather unusual color combinations.
I was especially unsure of how well a bright purple with blue shimmer would go with metallic copper and an old gold/pewter. The proof is in the pudding!

The pigmentation is amazing! Except for the purple... The prettiest one of course. It takes quite a bit of work to get it to actually look like the color in the pan. So worth it though. This trio is gorgeous!

Left to right the purple is packed on over NYX jumbo pencil in Slate, NYX jumbo pencil in Yogurt, elf eyelid primer, Maybelline dream mousse eyeshadow in Vanilla Veil, Covergirl Shadow Squease in Cloud and Almay concealer in Light. None of them worked that well except for NYX jumbo pencils.

This is swatched over NYX jumbo pencil in Slate, Yogurt and Milk. Slate really brings out the blue shift, Yogurt does a decent job but changes the purple shade a bit (I wouldn't use it), Milk sorta makes the purple look muddy and kinda funny looking.

I ended up using NYX eyeliner in Purple as a base for the purple eyeshadow and NYX jumbo pencil in Yogurt as a base for the copper and pewter.

I Used:
elf eyelid primer from lashes to brow

NYX eyeliner in Purple as base on outer V and bottom lashline
NYX jumbo pencil in Yogurt as base on rest of lid and inner corner
WnW Dancing in the Clouds followed suggested placement except for pewter on inner corner not browbone.
Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid liner in Black on top lashline
Revlon Extra Curl eyelash curler
Maybelline Colossal mascara in Classic Black
L.A. Colors auto eyeliner in Black (lasts all day on my waterline without fading)
NYC limited edition blushable creme stick in Golden Radiance (cheek highlight)
Meow Cosmetics Wild Child blush in Snarky
Rimmel Vinyl Bronze lipgloss in Golden Goddess

WnW Fast Dry nail polish in Buffy the Violet Slayer

The Fast Dry formula isn't as smooth and glossy as the Wild Shine polishes, but it does dry a bit faster. I have a coat of Color Club Vivid top coat on.

Dancing in the Clouds is a great dupe for Urban Decay Summer of love palette (obviously the purple is not as good as the Urban Decay purple). I know I've seen comparison swatches online. Summer of Love palette is around $20 on eBay. I don't think you can buy it in stores anymore... So for three dollars WnW is a good alternative.
