Dawn Eyes Cosmetics: Swatches and Look!
This post has been a seriously long time coming. I actually thought I had posted this months and months ago... But apparently not! So here we go!
I ordered some lovely samples from Dawn Eyes Cosmetics (almost a year ago I think?) You can still buy all these shades from their various mini collections that are on clearance.
Colonel Mustard: "A deep mustard yellow matte base with a slight sheen, sprinkled with tiny gold and copper sparks."
Spot on and very unique! I don't own anything like this.
Fire Witch: "Deep rusty orange with a brilliant green sheen that shifts to a striking solid coppery orange, decked out with golden sparkle! A bold and beautiful color!"
My swatches don't show the pretty green shift very well.
Wild Turkey: "Dark deep brown with strong shifts in green and pink, dripping with color-shifting glitter that goes aqua to blue to purple/pink."
I see a taupey brown base with green shimmer that shifts to a mauvey base with blue and pink shimmer.
Imp: "Deep inky black dripping with holographic glitter!"
Super pigmented, matte black base chock full of holo glitter.
Tempest: "Deep dark blue/black base loaded with color-shifting sparkles that range coral/blue/red/green to purple/gold/pink; wild, untamed, powerful, an ocean unleashed."
I can't really tell what color the base is, but it's smokey and blue toned and very complex. The shift is really hard to describe too, it's a dusty aqua that changes to a violet mauve with gold, blue, green, and pink sparkles. The pink sparkles being more dominant at an angle.
Dreamer: "Lush forest green with a strong shift to a deep aqua with subtle purple undertones, glittering with green/gold to aqua/blue color shifting glitter! Perfect for a day at the beach!"
A sheer shimmery forest green base with a strong light grass green shift that changes to aqua (and blue at extreme angles) with gold sparkles.
Blue Horse: "Beautiful green with a strong aqua shift, even bordering on lavender, loaded with bright aqua sparkle."
Another spot on description!

Darling Girl Cosmetics: Bright Yellow and Vampy Sparkles!
Today's look was inspired by a color combo that Valentina came up with and shared in the Darling Girl fan page on Facebook.
"For
a nice and glowy fall look try Seahorse on your lid, Oily Variety Bohunk on crease and outer edge and Fisticuffs to blend the two shades,
random eggplant liner and you're done."
I had been meaning to try Seahorse for several months and this seemed like the perfect look to try it out with! I don't have Oily Variety Bohunk so I subbed in the dark, sparkly, purple/plum crease shade from the Wet n Wild Petal Pusher palette and mixed it with DG Fireworks.
I Used:
Darling Girl Glitter Glue
DG Fisticuffs on the inner corner
DG Seahorse on the inner half of lid
Wet n Wild Petal Pusher palette, plum 'crease' shade on outer half of lid
DG Fireworks patted over WnW plum shade, blended into crease and outer corner
DG Fisticuffs to blend out the edge of Fireworks in the crease

Part 2 of Darling Girl "Oh The Horror" swatches!!!
Yay! Today I have swatches of four more eyeshadows from the new "Oh The Horror" Halloween 2013 collection by Darling Girl Cosmetics. Here is part 1 of the swatches in case you missed it! To stay up to date on sales and new products I suggest liking the Darling Girl Facebook page.
**These eyeshadow samples were provided to me from Susan of Darling Girl Cosmetics for the purpose of swatching part of the new collection. As always these are my 100% honest and personal thoughts. I am not being compensated in any way.**
From the Darling Girl website:
"The highly anticipated Oh The Horror collection is finally here. This years Halloween collection was inspired by classic tv/movie monsters and villains' so grab some popcorn and pick your favorites! As special thank you to all my customers who helped come up with some of the fun names and inspirations for the shades!"
50 Foot Woman: "Bright sunny yellow with a gorgeous pinky red shift and pink color shifting sparkles. The pink red shift was a little shy but you can see glimpses of it in the swatch photo's. Inspired by the 50 Foot Woman movie art." Spot on description!
Bad Ash: "Bold pearly copper with red tones (for all the blooood) loaded with color shifting aqua sparkles (for Ash's blue shirt). Inspired by the Evil Dead." I would say this copper is almost metallic. Also, the aqua sparkles shift to pink!
Pumpkinhead: "Ruddy red with strong green flash. If you love orange shadows you must get this one! Based on the Pumpkinhead 2 movie art." A very red toned, almost burnt orange base with strong green flash that shifts to a mauvey pink.
Go Go Godzilla: "Slightly bluish green with a shift from brilliant bright green to gold and color shifting aqua sparkles! Even though most of the Godzilla movies I watched as a kid were black and white, this is my vision of Godzilla. The theme song always runs through my mind when I wear or make a batch of this shade." I see a super shimmery, blue toned emerald green base with the same strong, bright green shift as Pumpkinhead to changes that mauvey pink.
